Wow! Time flies when life takes you by the head and spins you around like a top. So many things have happened since I last posted (almost a year ago!).

In a nutshell....

Ross - No longer employed with Intel or Target. Worked for Intermountain Healthcare for about 6 months, no works for Media Lab as the Office Manager of the Utah Chapter. bought a Motorcycle - 1982 Honda CB650. Over half way done with school. I graduate in March of 2011. Excited about that.

RuthAnn - As of April 10, 2010, RuthAnn is no longer employed with Continental Airlines. In their divine wisdom (he says with sarcasm dripping off his tongue) they decided that they had over 600 reservation admins too many. She had two options, Furlough or Early Out (early retirement). She decided to take furlough so that she could get her severance. Her flight benefits go away on October 10, 2010.

Todd (17) - has become a conservative democrat! He loves to get into debates with his uncles. He has really enjoyed his government classes and was part of Mountain Crest's "We The People" team. This is all about the constitution. Mountain Crest took 2nd in State. He also worked for the local radio station this year during all of Mountain Crest's sports working the sound board and working local promotions as well. He enjoyed that and they thought he did a really good job, giving him on air props at the end of basketball season.

Joey (14) - I think Joey found his niche. He played football last fall for the first time and actually did really good. He found that he liked it a lot, but I think that he likes the girls knowing that he is on the team. He is such a lady killer. All the girls dig him! I think that he has benefited the most with our move up here. Grades are good, he learned how to ride snowmobiles, 4 wheelers and made some good friends in his distant cousin's. He even worked on the farm a few days helping milk cows! also in South Cache's Production of School House Rock!...Ya know, Conjunction, Conjunction, What's your function...

Maggie (12)- She has also benefited greatly from the move up here. She is a great student, she has become a big helper in the kitchen and wants to learn how to cook. Sometimes she wants to learn too fast, but I try to help her out. She is the Beehive President and is looking to go to camp with her mother who is Camp Director. She loves to hang out with her friends and has become just the cuties young lady there is....(bias? YES)

Abby (4) - What can I say about this little monkey. She just loves to play with her two dogs: Roxy and Wilbur...or Rocky and Willwur. She is in preschool and loves her teacher. She is just a little smarty pants. She does her own thing. For example, she makes her favorite "sammich" by her self: Mayonnaise and Pickle. She gets her own cereal and milk in the morning without spilling and sets the table. She has her own jobs that she does (cleaning the toy room)and she does it pretty well. She loves playing out doors and can keep herself pretty much entertained for hours. Scooby-Doo is her favorite show and Scooby is actually one of her many nicknames.

We went to Mount Rushmore last year as a family via Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, Cody and Casper Wyoming. It was so much fun. We camped out pretty much the whole time in tents or cabins. It rained almost every day, and RuthAnn's Parents came with us to Mount Rushmore. We had such a good time. It was fun to see my kids get into the history that was all around us. I think Joey really likes the Crazy Horse Monument site. He got into how they were blowing this monument out of the side of the mountain.

We spent a lot of time at Bear Lake and with our friends and family. It was such a great year in 2009 for the family. Financially it was crazy, but as the great John Lennon once said "All You Need Is Love." That is such the truth!

So RuthAnn has been hard at work trying to make our place more homey and like us. As you can tell, she still loves her picture taken :) She is such cutie though :)
This is what the kitchen (below)looked like when we moved in. Wood paneling, white cupboards, pretty plain and boring.

Here is what it looks like now after she put her special touch to it....A great little country kitchen.

It looks so much better. She did the same to the living room, but my battery is charging to get a pic of that :)

ok, So I have been a slacker on the blog thing. I will get better at it now that I am offically in Cache Valley. As you all know, we have moved from the Salt Lake Valley and now move in the small Cache Valley town of Millville. Population 1807 (1813 including us). Great people around here and we have made friends with some. Besides its a nice little place and we like out little house we are renting :)

So, in the last month, that I have been here, we have started a garden (25 ft by 90 ft) I have half of this done and will plant the rest this week. I have planted tomatoes, lettuce, radishes, cabbage, carrots, brussle sprouts, cucumbers and peas. I still have squash, corn, zuccini, beans, edamame and a few other things...the farmer at work....

The kids have adjusted to school and are looking forward to being done. Todd has USU credits already, Joey has been playing in the school band (percussion) Maggie is doing good in school and abby rules the roost. Joey has also almost finished his Cycling merit badge. He has a 50 miler next week to finish up. So it's once around bear lake and he is good :)

Todd, other than following the Mountain Crest Drum Line to State and watching them take state, he also "cleaned the Sink" at Angie's Diner. You will have to ask him what that means if you don't know.

RuthAnn Continues to work and play on her new computer. She loves it....And I am just looking for work and going to school at Axia College of Univerisity of Phoenix. One week down and going good!
Next week we are off on our family vacation for the year. Jackson Hole, Yellowstone, Casper and Mount Rushmore. We will post pics as we go and tell you all about it.

So I decided that in 2009 we will jump into the blog waters and let you all know what we are doing. I know that within my Family, I am one of the only one's that doesn't have a blog, so we are going to join in.

So, you may wonder about the name of our blog, "...And Olsen's Fly". As many of you know that my wife, RuthAnn, has worked for Continental Airlines going on 10 years. She has family in Wyoming, Utah, California and Texas. We try to fly to visit her Sister in Plano, Texas as often as we can. During one of your visits, at the close of the day, we knelt in family prayer. After the prayer was given, The Moline family has a ritual to end the night. They start out by saying "...The Moline's Rock, Warr's Rule and Olsen's Fly.." I always thought that was fun, so I stole their idea and named our blog.

So i hope that we can keep this going with pics and comments of the things that matter most. Family, outdoors, college football, travel and family fun.
The back ground for our blog is Italy. My goal in 2009 is to get to this country. One of my dreams is to visit all the special cities and countries in the world.
